St Volodymyr Ukrainian Catholic Church in Santa Clara, CA

On January 4, our parish held its Annual Parish Prosphora.
After the Divine Liturgy, we prayed together a memorial service for the souls of all our departed parishioners and our relatives, as well as for those who were innocently killed during the war and for the soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.

After the prayer, the caroling group “Oberih” visited us and, through their heartfelt singing, glorified the newborn Savior. The carols came from different regions of Ukraine and showed the richness of our people’s faith, living traditions, and strong spirit.

After the performance, Fr. Roman thanked the carolers for their service and encouraged everyone to continue carrying God’s light wherever we may be, so that darkness may be driven away from our hearts, our families, and our Ukrainian land. He also sincerely thanked everyone for their support, unity, and help during this difficult time of war.

At the end, Fr. Roman gave each person prosphora with honey as a symbol of unity and a reminder that we all belong to one great family of Christ.
The parish prosphora concluded with shared food and warm conversation, filled with the spirit of Christmas and brotherly love.
