St Volodymyr Ukrainian Catholic Church in Santa Clara, CA

On Sunday, August 31, after the Divine Liturgy, a special event took place in our church — the blessing of two newly acquired sacred items: the Holy Shroud of our Lord Jesus Christ and a new icon that will now be placed on the tetrapod and changed according to the twelve major feasts of the Church year.

The pastor of the parish, Fr. Roman Bobesiuk, addressed the faithful and explained the spiritual meaning of these holy items. The Shroud is a symbol of the suffering, death, and Resurrection of the Savior, reminding us of His endless love for humanity and His sacrifice for the salvation of the world. The icon is meant to help the faithful enter more deeply into the mystery of each feast, through prayer and contemplation.

Fr. Roman expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all parishioners who, through their donations, prayers, and sincere love for God and His church, made the purchase of these holy items possible. Every contribution made with faith and love is not only material support but also a living witness to the unity of the community in Christ.

The celebration concluded with the singing of Many Years for all benefactors and a general blessing, as a sign of God’s presence and His grace upon our parish.
