St Volodymyr Ukrainian Catholic Church in Santa Clara, CA

On Mother’s Day, a special and joyful celebration took place at our Parish — the First Confession and Solemn Holy Communion of the children. The children had been preparing for this important day since October, learning the truths of the faith, prayers, and growing in God’s love.

During the Divine Liturgy, Fr. Roman congratulated the children on this important moment in their spiritual life and encouraged them to grow in holiness, remain in God’s love, and witness to Christ through their lives.

After the Liturgy, the children, parents, and godparents received a blessing. Special greetings and words of gratitude were also offered to all mothers, godmothers, and grandmothers on the occasion of Mother’s Day. As a sign of love, respect, and appreciation, every mother received a rose.

The celebration continued with a festive meal, where the parish family had the opportunity to share their joy, impressions, and best wishes with one another.
