St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Catholic Church

Our parish, St. Volodymyr, held a Lenten retreat. The theme was the words of Christ:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

The retreat was led by Fr. Dr. Andriy Tanasiychuk. He is a professor and doctor of canon law. He came from Kolomyia, where he serves as a parish priest at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Fr. Andriy spoke about the Church as a place of personal encounter with Christ. He reminded us that many people know about God but do not have a deep relationship with Him. The retreat was a time to reflect on our faith, renew our connection with God, and grow through repentance, prayer, and listening to His Word.

The last day of the retreat was special. It was the Sunday of Orthodoxy. After the Divine Liturgy, we blessed icons and all present. This was a reminder that each person is a living icon of God.

At the end, Fr. Roman Bobesiuk thanked Fr. Andriy for his deep and inspiring teachings. The retreat ended with singing “Many Years” and a final blessing.

This retreat was a time of grace and spiritual renewal. May God’s Word grow in the hearts of all who participated.
